Section 1 form filling = expected easy. Mất điểm vì:

• Sai spelling 1 chữ → cả answer sai
• Confused similar-sounding numbers (thirteen vs thirty)
• Miss capitalization on names

10 traps cụ thể

1. Thirteen vs thirty

• /θɜːrˈtiːn/ vs /ˈθɜːrti/ — khác stress
• Speaker often confirm: "thirty, three-zero"
• Listen for FULL form khi không chắc

2. Compound numbers

• "twenty-five" → write "25" or "twenty-five"?
• Rule: written as ONE word (hyphenated) counts as 1 word
• Safer: write as digit "25"

3. Phone numbers

• "0843, 5217" = 0843 5217 (8 digits split into pairs)
• Listen for pauses → indicate digit groups
• "oh" = 0
• "double four" = 44

4. Dates format

• British: 24th May or 24/05
• US: May 24 or 05/24
• IELTS accepts both, but match what speaker says

5. Addresses

• "123 Main Street" — capitalize street names
• "Apt 4B" — common format
• Postcodes: UK format "SW1A 1AA"

6. Email addresses

• "john.smith@gmail.com" — listen for "dot", "at"
• No capitalization usually

7. Currency

• "$50" or "50 dollars" — both accepted
• "£100" or "100 pounds"
• Speaker may correct: "actually, that's in pounds, not dollars"

8. Names spelling

• "S-M-I-T-H" letter by letter
• Always capitalize first letter
• Listen for double letters: "Tt-O-double-N-Y" = TONY
