Part 1 topic groups

IELTS Part 1 cycles through familiar topics:

Vocabulary cluster method

For each topic, prepare 10-15 collocations + 3-5 idiomatic phrases.

Topic: Work

Collocations:

• demanding job / rewarding career
• climb the corporate ladder
• meet a tight deadline
• juggle multiple projects
• work under pressure
• be one's own boss
• have a heavy workload
• take time off / on leave
• collaborate with colleagues
• pursue a promotion

Idiomatic:

• "It pays the bills" (it's adequate financially)
