Multi-speaker tracking — Section 3 academic discussion với 3+ speakers
ID 884558Section 3 có 2-3 speakers (tutor + students). Học cách distinguish voices + track ai nói gì.
Vấn đề
Section 3 academic discussion thường có:
- 1 tutor (older, authoritative voice)
- 2 students (often varying genders)
- They cut each other, agree/disagree, build on points
Band 8 challenge: maintain 100% tracking of WHO said WHAT.
Voice differentiation
Step 1: Initial voice identification (first 60s)
Speaker A introduces session → note voice type (male/female, deep/high, native/accent) Speaker B responds → note differences Speaker C joins → note distinct features
Within 60 seconds, you can usually tell voices apart.
Step 2: Mental labels
- Tutor = T (often male, mature voice)
- Student 1 = A (often first student to speak)
- Student 2 = B
Step 3: Note initials beside answer keys
Khi nghe statement match question, ghi: "S5: A" (Statement 5 = Student A)
Common situations
Quoting other speakers
Tutor: "As John mentioned, the data is unreliable."
→ "data unreliable" view belongs to John, not tutor
Agreement
Student A: "I think we need more samples."
Student B: "I agree."
→ B agrees with A's view, but the VIEW itself originates with A. For "who proposed more samples" question → A.
Disagreement
Student A: "Survey is best."
Tutor: "Actually, I'd recommend interviews instead."
→ Tutor disagrees, advocates interviews. For "who recommended interviews" → Tutor.
Building on each other
Student A: "Cost is the main issue."
Student B: "Right, and time is also critical."
