Camping Equipment: A Beginner's Guide

A Many people find camping a marvellous way to escape city life and enjoy nature. However, beginners often make mistakes because they do not bring essential equipment. Without proper preparation, a camping trip can turn from delightful into dreadful very quickly. This guide provides basic information about the key items you need for a safe and comfortable outdoor experience.

B First, you need somewhere to sleep. A good tent is the most important piece of equipment. Choose a tent that is large enough for your group but not enormous, as bigger tents are harder to set up and keep warm. Modern tents are made from lightweight materials that are easy to carry. You should also bring a sleeping bag suitable for the weather. In cold conditions, a sleeping bag rated for low temperatures is essential. Many campers also bring a thin mat to put under the sleeping bag for extra comfort.

C Lighting is another key consideration. When the sun goes down, a campsite becomes extremely dark. A torch is vital for moving around safely at night. Some experienced campers prefer headlamps because they keep both hands free. You should always carry spare batteries as well. Another useful item is a small lantern to hang inside your tent, which provides better light for reading or playing cards.

D Food and water are obviously crucial. Bring enough drinking water for your entire trip, or take equipment to purify water from streams. For meals, many beginners choose simple food like toast, which can be cooked over a campfire. Tinned food is also convenient because it does not spoil quickly. Remember to pack a small bin bag for your rubbish. Leaving waste in nature is not only bad behaviour but can also attract wild animals to your camp.

E Finally, think about safety. A basic first aid kit should include items for treating small cuts and burns. It is also wise to bring a map and compass, even if you plan to stay near your car. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly, and fog can make familiar scenery look confusing. Many campers bring a whistle to signal for help if they get lost. With the right equipment and a bit of common sense, camping can be a terrific adventure for the whole family.

1. Đọc instructionXem word limit là bao nhiêu. Đề này ghi NO MORE THAN TWO WORDS, nghĩa là đáp án tối đa 2 từ. Viết thừa là sai ngay.
2. Đọc tiêu đề form/tableTiêu đề cho biết nội dung tổng thể. Ví dụ 'Camping Equipment Checklist' → passage sẽ nói về đồ cắm trại.
3. Đọc cấu trúc note/tableXem các mục lớn (Shelter, Lighting, Food & Water, Safety). Đây là các chủ đề con, giúp bạn định vị đoạn nào trong passage nói về cái gì.
4. Gạch chân keyword câu hỏiVí dụ câu 1: 'difficult to [[1]]' → keyword là difficult to. Câu 3: 'necessary for safe movement after dark' → keyword là necessary, safe movement, after dark.
5. Tìm đoạn chứa đáp ánThứ tự câu hỏi thường theo thứ tự passage. Câu 1–2 về Shelter → tìm đoạn B. Câu 3–4 về Lighting → đoạn C. Câu 5–6 về Food & Water → đoạn D. Câu 7 về Safety → đoạn E.
6. Đối chiếu paraphrasePassage không lặp lại nguyên văn câu hỏi. Ví dụ câu hỏi nói difficult to, passage nói harder to. Câu hỏi nói necessary, passage nói vital. Nhận ra paraphrase là chìa khoá.
7. Chọn đáp án đúng word limitCâu 6: passage nói 'a small bin bag' nhưng word limit chỉ cho 2 từ → chỉ lấy bin bag, bỏ small.

7. Paraphrase bank

Dạng này sống nhờ paraphrase. Passage thường không lặp lại nguyên văn câu hỏi, nên cần nhận ra paraphrase mới tìm đúng đáp án. Tuy nhiên đôi khi vẫn có từ trùng nguyên văn, như 'suitable for' trong bảng dưới. Bảng dưới liệt kê các cặp từ/cụm từ tương ứng giữa câu hỏi và passage trong bài này.
