Nowadays, people have different ideas about when children should learn foreign language. Some people think primary school is good time, but other people think secondary school is better. I think primary school is better time for children.
First, young children learn language very fast. Scientists say children have good brain for learning language when they are young. If children start learning English in primary school, they will have more time to practice and they can speak English very well when they grow up. For example, my cousin started learning English when she was 7 years old and now she can speak English very good.
However, some people think secondary school is better time because primary school children are too young. They need to focus on important subject like Math and their own language first. Learning foreign language can be difficult thing for them and they will feel stress. Also, teachers in primary school may not have enough skill to teach foreign language.
In conclusion, both views have good points. But I think children should start learning foreign language at primary school because they can learn fast and have more time to practice. This will help them in future.
